According to the State of Digital Signage 2026 report by Kitcast, manufacturing screens are working dashboards — 64% show live operational data — and almost nothing social (3%, the lowest of any industry). A third of the content is over a year old. telemetry

Factory-floor signage is the least decorative in the dataset. Dashboards run on 64% of manufacturing screens — KPIs, safety counters, production status — with weather (73%) and media (60%) around them, and almost no social content at all (3%, the lowest measured). Business-app integrations (30%) and API feeds (24%) run notably above the field: these screens are wired into systems, not playlists.

The flip side of dashboard-driven signage: the static content around it fossilizes. 34% of manufacturing's scheduled creative is over a year old — tied for the highest recycling rate of any vertical — a textbook case of set-and-forget. Device health is excellent (89.3% active), freshness middling (median 20.1 days), and the typical workspace runs 2 screens (mean 2.5).

Frequently asked questions

What do factories show on digital signage?

Operational data first: 64% of manufacturing screens show live dashboards — KPIs, safety counters, production status — with weather on 73% and media on 60%. Social content is nearly absent (3%, the lowest of any industry).

How fresh is manufacturing digital signage content?

The dashboards are live, but the static content around them isn't: 34% of manufacturing's scheduled creative is over a year old, tied for the highest content-recycling rate of any vertical.

How reliable are manufacturing signage networks?

Among the best measured: 89.3% of manufacturing devices were active in the last 90 days, versus the all-industry rate of 78%.

Dashboards dominating factory screens usually means KPI and safety boards on the floor — the manufacturing digital signage page covers how plants wire live production data to displays.
