Social media wall software
A social media wall is a screen that shows live posts from your social accounts and hashtags. Kitcast runs that wall on the TVs you already use — Apple TV, Fire TV, Android TV, Samsung, LG or BrightSign — with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and X feeds, hashtag filters, scheduling and split-screen zones. Plans start at $7 per screen per month.

In short
Definition
A social media wall is a display that pulls posts from social networks — your own accounts, a campaign hashtag or mentions — and shows them on a screen as they are published. Businesses use it to put social proof where buying decisions happen: customer photos next to a café counter, a campus hashtag in a student center, member shout-outs in a gym, or event posts around a venue.
The term covers three different products. Event social walls are rented for a conference or wedding and projected for a few days. Website social walls are widgets embedded on a web page. Digital signage social walls run every day on TVs in physical spaces, next to menus, promotions and announcements. Kitcast is the third kind.
| Type | Where it runs | How long | Usually built with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Event social wall | Projector or LED wall at a conference, concert or wedding | One day to one week | Event social wall services |
| Website social wall | An embedded widget on a web page | Ongoing | Social feed aggregator widgets |
| Digital signage social wall | TVs in stores, lobbies, campuses, gyms and restaurants | Always on, mixed with other content | Digital signage software such as Kitcast |
Supported networks
Each network is an app you add to a playlist. Once connected, the feed refreshes on its own — nobody has to download and re-upload posts.
Connect an Instagram business account and new posts appear on screen when you publish them. Add hashtags, set content priority and slide view, and show or hide like counts.
Instagram app →Connect your Facebook account and show its posts on screen next to your other feeds, so updates you already publish reach people in your space.
Build the feed from the hashtags and mentions you choose, so only posts about your topic play. Toggle like counts and schedule when the feed appears.
TikTok app →Connect your X accounts, feature specific hashtags and prioritize the content you want. The same feed can run on every screen in your network at once.
X app →One wall for several channels: connect up to three Instagram and X accounts, add tags, and set how long each post stays on screen.
Social Activity app →Prefer reviews to posts? Show recent Yelp reviews for each location, with run time and per-item timing you set.
Yelp app →See every integration on the apps page.
Setup
Four steps. The first screen usually takes one session; adding more screens is the same pairing step repeated.
Plug an Apple TV, Fire TV, Android TV box or BrightSign into the screen — or use a Samsung or LG display with the app built in. Install Kitcast and pair it with the on-screen code.
In the dashboard, open Apps and choose Instagram Business Feed, TikTok Feed, X Feed or Social Activity. Connect the account you want to show.
Pick hashtags and mentions, set content priority, choose whether like counts show, and decide how many seconds each post stays up.
Add the app to a playlist or a screen zone, set when it runs, and publish to one screen or a whole group. Preview the result before it goes live.

Layouts
People read a wall from several meters away and only for a few seconds. Large photos, short captions and one clear call to action — usually the hashtag to post with — work better than a dense copy of a phone feed.

One post at a time, full screen. Best for single screens seen from a distance — gym floors, waiting areas, storefront windows.

Several posts per slide with the campaign hashtag on screen. Best for events, campus spaces and busy venues where you want people to join in.

The feed runs in a side zone while the main zone shows a menu, promotion or announcement. Best for cafés and stores where the screen has another job.
Where it works
Anywhere people wait, queue or gather — and where a photo from another customer is more convincing than an ad.
Show customers wearing or using your products near fitting rooms and checkout, and rotate the feed with seasonal promotions.
Retail digital signage →Put guests' photos of your dishes in a zone next to the menu, so the board sells with social proof as well as prices.
Digital menu boards →Run the campus account and event hashtags in student centers, athletics facilities and admissions lobbies.
Education digital signage →Celebrate member milestones and class highlights between workout content and schedule updates.
Gym digital signage →Show the company's own posts — launches, hiring, culture — to visitors and employees in reception areas and break rooms.
Corporate communications →Put the event hashtag on screens around the venue so attendees see their own posts appear during the day.

Both put social posts on a screen, but they solve different problems. Pick by how long the wall runs and what else the screen has to do.
| Dedicated social wall service | Kitcast digital signage | |
|---|---|---|
| Main job | Collect and moderate posts from many networks for one event or web page | Run everything on your screens: social feeds, menus, promotions, video, announcements and dashboards |
| Where it plays | Browser, projector, LED wall or a website embed | Apple TV, Android TV, Fire TV, BrightSign, Samsung, LG, macOS, iOS and a web player |
| Networks | Varies by vendor; often a long list | Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and X, with Social Activity to combine Instagram and X accounts |
| Post-by-post approval | Often available | Not available; control comes from connected accounts, hashtags, mentions, priority and schedule |
| Other content on the same screen | Usually the wall only | Split-screen zones, playlists and time-of-day schedules |
| If the internet drops | Depends on the vendor | The player keeps showing cached content instead of a blank screen |
| Pricing model | Usually per event or a monthly subscription per wall | Per screen, from $7/month billed annually |
Rule of thumb: if you need to approve each guest post before it appears, or run a one-day event wall, a dedicated social wall service is the better fit. For social posts on screens you run every day, next to the rest of your content, use digital signage. See how Kitcast compares with other platforms in our digital signage software comparison.
Brand safety
A wall in a physical space is public, so decide what can appear before it goes live. Kitcast has no post-by-post approval queue, so the setup itself is your moderation. These are the controls that matter.
Feeds from the Instagram, Facebook and X accounts you connect show posts your team already published. This is the safest setup for an always-on screen.
If you show guest posts, narrow the feed to a unique campaign hashtag or mentions of your account. A broad hashtag can pull in posts you would not choose.
Set content priority, hide like counts if they distract, and choose how long each post stays on screen.
Run the feed only during opening hours or an event, preview the playlist before publishing, and use roles and permissions so only the right people can change screens.

FAQ
A social media wall is a screen that shows live posts from social networks — your own accounts, a campaign hashtag or mentions of your brand. Event walls run for a few days at a conference, website walls are embedded on a web page, and digital signage walls run every day on TVs in stores, lobbies, campuses and venues. Kitcast is digital signage software, so its social walls run alongside your other screen content.
Yes. Add the Instagram Business Feed app in Kitcast, connect your Instagram business account and add the app to a playlist. New posts appear on the screen automatically after you publish them, and you can add hashtags, set content priority and show or hide like counts.
Kitcast shows feeds from Instagram (Instagram Business Feed), Facebook, TikTok (TikTok Feed) and X (X Feed). The Social Activity app combines up to three Instagram and X accounts in one wall. For customer reviews, the Yelp app shows recent reviews on screen.
Yes. The TikTok Feed app builds the feed from the hashtags and mentions you choose, and the Instagram, X and Social Activity apps let you add tags to feature. Put the hashtag on the screen as well, so people know how to join in.
Kitcast does not have a queue for approving or hiding individual posts. You control the wall through the accounts you connect, the hashtags and mentions the feed uses, content priority, like-count display and the schedule. For a public screen, show your own accounts or a unique campaign hashtag; if every guest post must be approved first, use a dedicated social wall service.
Yes. Kitcast screen zones split one display into regions, so the social feed can run in a side zone while the main zone shows a menu, promotion or announcement. You can also mix the feed into a playlist with videos and images and schedule it by time of day.
Kitcast players cache content locally, so the screen keeps showing what was last synced instead of going blank. When the connection returns, content syncs again automatically.
Kitcast is priced per screen: Starter is $7 per screen per month billed annually or $9 billed monthly, and Pro is $10 billed annually or $14 billed monthly. Hardware is separate — an Apple TV, Fire TV, Android TV box, BrightSign player or a Samsung or LG smart display. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial without a credit card.
