Retail digital signage is the best way to impress visitors. These shopping malls know it and create fantastic visual experiences with the displays. From gigantic outdoor boards to innovative interactive indoor solutions, here are the 6 coolest shopping mall screens in the world.
1. The Ultimate Display – American Dream, US
Why: it goes without saying that the biggest mall in the US should also have some head-turning display technology. Gigantic American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, Bergen County, New Jersey does just that. The retail behemoth partnered with SNA Displays to install “The Ultimate Display” that greets drivers on the New Jersey Turnpike, Route 3, and Route 120.
Why is it on our list of the coolest shopping mall screens in the world? Well, just look at the stats. 180 degrees of visibility, 53.5 million pixels and 31, 298 square feet of size, this display is the one to remember. Also, it follows the curved shape of the Nickelodeon Universe exterior so the screen is just beautiful design-wise.
2. Dubai Mall Aquarium OLED
Why: Dubai has a penchant for breaking world records. This also extends to its shopping malls. Meet the stunning Dubai Mall Aquarium OLED aka UAE’s largest indoor screen at the world’s second-largest shopping mall. It’s 7,639 square feet and comes with a resolution of 1,700,352,000 pixels.
This spectacular video wall is Dubai Mall’s partnership with LG. At the time of its opening in 2017, the screen was awarded two Guinness World Records: Highest resolution video wall and Largest high-definition video wall. Its shape mimics the real water tank with fish below so the visitors have a truly special visual show combined with nature.
3. “Wings of Chongqing” 3D Screen, China
Why: some shopping mall screens look cooler than others. Naked-eye 3D technology adds magic to the viewing experience. The outdoor screen in the Jiefangbei shopping center in Chongqing, China is the best example of using interactive solutions in retail.
Called “Wings of Chongqing,” it’s a gigantic video wall capable of showing naked-eye 3D projections. Such anamorphic content immediately captures the attention and allows advertisers to realize bolder creative ideas.
4. Magic Mirror Metromar – Seville, Spain
Why: here’s a perfect example of the original way to engage with visitors with a shopping mall screen. Centro Comercial Metromar in the beautiful Spanish city of Seville deployed digital signage technology. But it’s a different kind of screen. Developed by Trison Necsum, Magic Mirror is an artful mesh LED technology that creates a stunning visual show with a transparent canvas.
The company specializes in deploying innovative screen solutions and bringing digital art to life. Technology like Magic Mirror looks awesome in a shopping mall setting and gives visitors another reason to stick around. The screens create a special atmosphere, get people taking photos and videos for their socials and serve as a prestige point for the mall.
5. Joy City 3D Ceiling – Xi’an, China
Why: having a 3D screen is already a big attention grabber for any shopping mall. But how about deploying a gargantuan 3D-capable canopy? Xi’an’s Joy City in China has one of the most exciting shopping mall screens that enables a glasses-free 3D viewing experience and comes with 1200 square feet of size.
Other features of this cool installation include 24K resolution, an ultra-high contrast ratio and engaging content that gives digital artists limitless creativity. Canopy screens aren’t that common in shopping malls due to the difficulty of their deployment and management, so it’s great to see projects like this one functioning at such a scale.
6. Miracle Mall Shops Screen Network – Las Vegas, Nevada
Why: it’s not one screen, it’s the network of digital technology at Miracle Mall Shops. SNA Displays partnered with one of Las Vegas’ prime shopping destinations to create an exemplary retail area where screens dominate. The Sin City is a perfect location for the deployment of this technology – we’re talking about the destination with the two biggest screens in the world.
Miracle Mile Shops is a shopping district adjacent to the iconic Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino (the one with the Eiffel Tower). The location right at The Strip makes it a focal point of the Las Vegas experience. The indoor shopping mall decided to make a memorable point with the screens. SNA Displays provided 19,500 square feet of digital signage that included more than 20 screens of different sizes lighting up The Strip. The whole network looks dazzling both during the day and night.
