What happened: LG got the tech world talking. The brand used CES 2024 which is happening now in Las Vegas to unveil the transparent OLED TV. It's officially called OLED T, comes with 4K resolution, and supports LG's wireless audio and video tech. But what's more exciting, it's an actual product and not a mere trade show prototype.
According to LG, the company plans to market the TV in 2024. The pricing hasn't been announced yet but the media speculates that it will cost less than the OLED R that the company presented a few years ago.
Here's a Digital Trends video showing this transparent OLED TV in action:

Here are some of the technical features of the LG OLED T:
- it is packed with an Alpha 11 AI processor (4 times better in performance than the previous version)
- the TV features down-firing speakers
- there are backlights to turn the device into a fully transparent mode
- 77-inch is the size
- Zero Connect Box is supported and "enables users to place their TV anywhere, regardless of where the electrical outlets are located in the room."
What can we say, it's quite a sensational TV technology. As a digital signage company, we can see it inspiring new, cool content choices.
The question remains, why did LG decide to go on with the commercial launch of such a product in 2024?
According to Park Hyoung-sei, president of the LG Home Entertainment Company, "LG’s transparent OLED gives customers greater freedom to curate their living spaces, completely redefining what’s possible and pointing the way to an exciting future for the television industry."
Redefining what's possible sounds like a great motto to go by.
And it's refreshing to see a technology at CES 2024 that's actually pushing the market forward. We can't wait to see the market launch of the LG OLED T and hear what the actual customers have to say.
